Beat Drop once again called us to shoot a somewhat impromptu DJ set with an amazing DJ duo, Skratch Bastid and Chris Karns. What followed was nothing short of amazing. After a few rehearsals, 5 takes and a couple beers, we wrapped and knew we had something magical on our hands. The video has been on youtube for a little over a month and has racked up 66,000 views. Skratch Bastid (Paul Murphy) was kind enough to answer a few questions about the shoot.
What were your first impressions about shooting with Dreadnaught?
My first impression when I met Jeremy at the shoot was that he really knew what he was doing. We were rehearsing a tight-for-time and somewhat improvised live scenario, and Jeremy’s ability to capture the moments we were looking for was immediately trusted.
How did you feel during the production?
For our performance, I barely felt like we were recording. There was a good balance of support for what was going on creatively and an overall understanding of what we needed to get done for the final product.
Are you happy with how it turned out?
Very much so. Some things were added in post-production that really took it to a level that I felt improved the overall package.
Have you been excited to share it with your network?
Yes, and it has exceeded our expectations in reception.
Thanks again to Beat Drop, Skratch Bastid, and Chris Karns. Can’t wait for round 2!
